Re-opening: Valence Outline Plan & PACE School Statement
The Governing Body has met this week and approved the proposed outline plan in regard to a re-opening of the school.
We are making two documents available for download:
- a statement from the PACE schools
- the Valence outline plan
The school leadership has attempted to establish a way forward that is in the best interests of staff, pupils and parents. This has been a real challenge, and we appreciate the opinions you have expressed, especially in the survey of Nursery, Reception, Y1 and Y6 parents. Clearly, we all agree that children need to return to school, but it must be safe to do so.
To Y6 parents in particular, we hope that the documents give you sufficient understanding of the proposal in order to make an informed decision about a potential return to school for your Y6 child. In order for us to prepare for a re-opening on 8 June, you need to inform the office of your intention by email or phone before 12pm on 1 June. You will not be fined if you choose for your child to continue remote learning at home.
The school leadership continues to work on a Risk Assessment that will be highly detailed in regard to identifying and minimising all potential risks. This will be circulated as soon as possible.
We are of course aware that the landscape changes rapidly, and there will be future announcements from the government that will no doubt impact how a re-opening might work.
Thank you for your understanding.
